The Republic of Tajikistan gained independence on September 9, 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the convergence of governments, they benefit from each other's material resources and economic ability and with joint cooperation, and with convergence and good relations, they can supply each other's deficiencies in different ways and complement each other's investment and production actions. The expansion of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan has been the focus of the country's officials since the beginning of the country's independence. Therefore, in Iran's foreign policy, Tajikistan enjoys a privileged position and due to the many commonalities between the two countries, it can be considered kinship relations. Economy and investment, language affinity, long-standing cultural and racial ties, religious ties and common history between Iran and Tajikistan provide a suitable platform for convergence between the two countries.
